Leadership In the Real World - Schaumburg, IL
Effective leadership is not just a function of understanding academic theories and textbook definitions. Real leadership takes courage, motivation, and skill to translate these theories into actions that are effective in today’s fire service culture. Unlike many leadership programs which only describe the characteristics and traits that leaders should possess, “Leadership in the Real World” combines cutting edge theories with skills and behaviors that can be used “on the job” every day. This class is modeled after the time-tested leadership training programs attended by officers in the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) upon promotion to lieutenant and captain. The technical knowledge and no-nonsense skills presented in this class will serve as a foundation for successful leadership development at all levels within the fire service.
